5D4N Exploring Mount Kerinci

(Mt. Kerinci (3.805 m above sea level) is Sumatra’s tallest active volcano.
This climbing trip only for people with great level of physical fitness.)

Day 1 Trip to Kerinci National Park (LD)
Views of the scenic coastline will absorb you on this relaxing drive south, where clear water streams flow through lush green valleys. The dense tropical rainforests of the Kerinci National park is home to many diverse species of flora and fauna. In the late afternoon you will arrive at Sungai Penuh, Mt. Kerinci, Sumatra’s tallest active volcano dominates the landscape forming an imposing backdrop to rolling green tea plantations. This evening you will stay in a simple guesthouse ran by a local family.

Day 2 & 3 Climbing Kerinci (BLD)
You will receive a Sumatra Trek Pack which includes a back pack, sleeping bag, sleeping mat and a rain jacket. On this strenuous climb the trail changes form tropical rainforest to the barren exposed peak of Mt. Kerinci. In the late afternoon you will reach your overnight camp site at a height of aprox. 3500m and in the pre-dawn morning mist you sill make your final ascent to the smoldering summit. Be awed by he magnificence of nature as you witness a breathtaking sunrise over the spectacular beauty of Sumatra. In the afternoon you will descend to the guest house below where a hot bath and a revitalizing massage awaits you.

Day 4 Interact with local people (BLD)
Life seems to move at a slower pace in these cool mountain highlands, today you can explore the daily life activities that revolve around the planting, harvesting and processing of tea, coffee and cinnamon. Today you can interact with local people and do local activities with them.

Day 5 Transfer for Next Destination
After breakfast you will be transferred to your onward destination.
